Location Manager

Responsibilities Summary

  • Oversee all daily operations at the store
  • Maintain company culture and values
  • Collaborate with departments to implement business strategies
  • Monitor sales, labor, margins, COGs, and customer satisfaction
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for customer and crew issues
  • Lead onboarding, scheduling, and coaching
  • Ensure Health & Safety, cleanliness, and compliance
  • Oversee training plans and reinforce operational systems
  • Manage payroll, timekeeping, and shift coverage
  • Conduct regular performance check-ins and progressive discipline
  • Oversee cash handling, deposits, and change

Physical Requirements

  • Work in a moderately noisy environment with multiple conversations and tasks being carried out at the same time
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, climb, kneel, stoop, crouch, reach, lift, carry
  • Ability to lift 30 – 50 lbs. often, adjusting, pushing, pulling or moving objects in all directions (includes maneuvering carts and wagons)
  • Repeating motions that may include entire body
  • Ability to withstand drastic temperature changes (cooler, walk-in freezer, hot/cold from walking outdoors, heat from kitchen, etc.)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Uphold Hungry Moose values and culture of company
  • Collaborate with Operations Manager, HR and other Departments to meet company goals
  • Collaborate with HR in hiring new Moose Crew members
  • Ensure a positive work environment for employees within the store
  • Ensure adherence to Health Department regulations and company/department policies
  • Ensure quality control (food handling/serving alcohol & safety, systems, training, etc.)
  • Oversee store cleanliness, organization and efficiency in systems
  • Oversee product procurement and merchandising across the department with Operations and Inventory Managers
  • Collaborate with Operations Manager, HR and other Department Assistants to implement strategies, problem-solve issues as they arise and meet company goals
  • Solve customer complaints and issues as they arise, reporting to Operations Manager when necessary
  • Reinforce systems and communication between co-workers and departments
  • Developing and optimizing training plans and manuals
  • Maintain Alcohol Serving Safety certification and ServSafe 

Scheduling

  • Manage and post monthly schedule (absence requests and shift-exchange management)
  • Monitor time clocks and process for payroll. Correct as needed.
  • Manage absence requests and shift-exchanges
  • Take calls from employees when sick or late, communicating these issues to Departments and ensuring shift coverage

Manage COGs

  • Set sales goals and work with employees to ensure goals are met
  • Collaborate with Director of Operations and Inventory & Ordering Specialist on project forecasts and actual sales
  • Oversee sales, margins and profit/growth
  • Oversee pricing, cost, waste

Labor

  • Implement strategies to increase productivity and foster growth (coordinating with Director of Operations
  • Develop the crew and ensure all are working toward the same goal and staying in alignment with the Moose vision.

Lead Trainers

  • Tasked with overseeing training, guiding and being a resource for new employees
  • Set goals for skill development

Coaching

  • Handle personnel issues including progressive discipline and coaching, coordinating with HR when necessary
  • Complete monthly check-ins and seasonal reviews: identify strengths and opportunities for improvement, set goals for skill development and coaching plans
  • Document verbal warnings & report summary of staff performance 

Accounting

  • Handle deposits and change orders. Ensure procedures are followed and cash counts are accurate
