Responsibilities Summary
- Supervise daily grocery floor operations and stocking
- Maintain cleanliness and merchandising standards
- Assign crew responsibilities and ensure tasks are completed
- Engage with customers and support store events
- Support ordering, inventory management, and pricing
- Collaborate with the Inventory Manager and location Manager on stock and waste
- Monitor labor usage and adjust based on schedule needs
- Lead training, onboarding, and coaching of grocery crew
- Address and escalate performance issues to the Location Manager
- Assist with daily deposits and change management

Physical Requirements
- Work in a moderately noisy environment with multiple conversations and tasks being carried out at the same time
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, climb, kneel, stoop, crouch, reach, lift, carry
- Ability to lift 30 – 50 lbs. often, adjusting, pushing, pulling or moving objects in all directions (includes maneuvering carts and wagons)
- Repeating motions that may include entire body
- Ability to withstand drastic temperature changes (cooler, walk-in freezer, hot/cold from walking outdoors, heat from kitchen, etc.)
Duties and Responsibilities
Training Support
- Complete monthly check-in’s and seasonal reviews: identify strengths and opportunities for improvement, set goals for skill development and coaching plans
Ordering
- Support in inventory and ordering as assigned by the Location Manager
Day to Day Operations
- Ensure department cleanliness and organization
- Ensure opening/mid/closing duties are thoroughly completed each shift
- Manage the flow of daily operations within the department, checking in with all employees to ensure goals are being met
- Ensure customer experience is top priority: engage in prompt, authentic, friendly and courteous interactions with customers
- Assist Location Manager with daily tasks and projects as assigned
- Assign Moose crew daily work load
- Ensure quality control
- Managing labor costs and working with Shift Leads to do the same based on location, schedule and needs
- Solve customer complaints and issues as they arise, reporting to the Location Manager when necessary
Coaching/Corrective Action
- Motivate employees, providing encouragement, feedback and coaching
- Foster a positive, collaborative and inclusive team culture with a focus on employee engagement and retention
- Onboard, oversee training of new staff members, and develop deli staff; promote cross training to enhance flexibility and coverage
- Set clear expectations, provide ongoing feedback and recognize excellent performance through documentation with HR
- Identify strengths and weaknesses of crew members and report to the Location Manager
- Reports discipline or coaching needs to the location manager. Works with a location manager to provide the necessary training and guidance
- Document verbal warnings & report summary of staff performance. Provide updates to the location manager
- Assists with Deposits and Change
